Kings Mountain Transit (KM Transit)

Prices are shown in rate / ride. The first 14 rides are priced at $6 each, the next 15 rides are priced at $3.25 each, and any additional rides are priced at $2 each.

Rides are one-way rides.

Example #1: My child rode the van both ways for 15 days last month. The total number of rides is 15 x 2 = 30 rides total. The first 14 rides total to $6 x 14 rides = $84. The next 15 rides total $3.25 x 15 = $48.75. The last ride is $2. My total for the month is $134.75.

Example #2: My child rode every day to school and back last month. There were 22 days in that month, so there were 44 rides. The first 14 rides total $84. The next 15 rides total $48.75. The final 15 rides total $2 x 15 rides = $30. My total for the month is $162.75.

Example #3: I drove my child to KMES and back every day, requiring a trip up and down the Mountain each time. If I lived at the New Leaf, I would have made 88 trips total that month, each trip being 13.1 miles. So, I drove a total of 1152.8 miles last month to get my kid to school. My car gets 25 miles per gallon on average going up and down the hill. I used 46 gallons of gas. Gas in Half Moon Bay is $4.70 on a good day, so I spent $216 on gas. And now, my car needs new tires and brakes after all that driving.
