Welcome to the Kings Mountain Associated Parents website!

We are parents and caregivers of students at Kings Mountain Elementary School, where the unofficial motto is “It Takes a Mountain!”

It’s clear to anyone who’s been on the KMES campus: this is a special place. Located in a unique forest setting, with an effective teaching staff and interactive enrichment activities, KMES helps our students to thrive and excel. As a result, the school has been justly awarded as a California Distinguished School, multiple times.

At KMES, we are so fortunate to experience a supportive relationship between our school and its larger community. This type of parent and community involvement is what makes KMES a unique and rewarding opportunity in education for students and families. What a rare opportunity, considering the limitations and interruptions in education on a national level, that we can get interested, get informed, and get involved, to really make a difference in our school.

Public school programs are not funded like they used to be when many of us were kids: subjects and materials some people assume are a “given,” such as music, art, enhanced science programs, computers, and library books, are only available because of volunteers and funds raised by small groups like us.

Whether you enjoy spending time in the classroom, working alone or with teams to plan our fundraisers, or prefer to donate directly, we can always use your support. For more information, contact a KMAP board member or donate directly here.
