It Takes A Mountain. And It Takes All of Us.
The KMES community is strengthened by families who share their time, talents, and support. Whether you have an hour to help at an event, want to support your child's classroom, or have a special skill to share, there is a place for you at KMES.
WHY GET INVOLVED?
Your Involvement Makes a Difference
The traditions, events, programs, and experiences that make KMES special are made possible when families work together. Getting involved is a wonderful way to connect with other families, support our students, and become part of the Kings Mountain community. You don't have to make a significant or long-term commitment to make a difference. Whether you can help once, throughout the school year, or share a special skill, every contribution matters.
Build Community
Meet other families and help create a connected and welcoming school community.
Support Students
Help create the traditions, programs, events, and experiences that enrich the KMES student experience.
Make a Difference
Whether you can help once or throughout the year, your time, talents, and support can make a meaningful difference.
FIND YOUR WAY TO GET INVOLVED
There Are Many Ways to Get Involved
Getting involved doesn't have to mean making a significant time commitment. There are opportunities based on your schedule, interests, and availability.
Volunteer at a Tradition or Fundraiser
Our fundraisers and traditions bring the KMES community together, and many hands help make them possible. Help before, during, or after an event with setup, food and service, activities, check-in, cleanup, or event coordination.
Support Your Classroom
Room Parents help support their classroom and create connections among families. To connect with other parents in your child's classroom, join the appropriate Classroom Parent Group in the KMES Community. These groups provide an easy way to communicate, share information, and coordinate opportunities to support the classroom.
Support the School
There are many ways to support the school beyond events and fundraising. Depending on current needs, opportunities may include helping with the library, classroom activities, special programs, educational projects, and other school activities.
Share Your Time & Talents
Not every contribution looks like traditional volunteering. Your professional experience, skills, hobbies, or talents may be exactly what KMAP or KMES needs. You may be able to help with photography, graphic design, event planning, technology, accounting, marketing, communications, art, science, music, or other special projects. Have a skill or talent you'd like to share? We'd love to hear from you.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS
Helping Keep Our Students Safe
Some volunteer opportunities require additional clearance to help ensure the safety of our students. At the beginning of each school year, the school hosts a Live Scan Fingerprinting Event for Volunteers. Fingerprinting through the District is required if you plan to drive students on field trips or volunteer with students without staff present. This service is free to volunteers, and you only need to complete the process once through the District.
Please note: Live Scan fingerprinting is required only for certain volunteer opportunities. There are many ways to participate in and support the KMES community that do not require additional clearance.
